The 2-day Knowledge and Understanding Framework (KUF) training is an innovative learning opportunity for professionals working across criminal justice, health, social care, and voluntary sectors to support people with complex emotional needs, often associated with a diagnosis of 'personality disorder’.
The training, commissioned by His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service and NHS England through the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway, is led and delivered by regional OPD Pathway partners.
The KUF programme is co-facilitated and co-produced by trainers with lived experience and clinical expertise using a trauma-informed approach and is now available to join today.

For NHS services that have undertaken any of the KUF 3-Day training programmes, resources previously held within the VLE can now be accessed via the eLearning hub.
Please note that the KUF 3-day training package is no longer under the national quality assurance process and there are no further updates to the 3-day materials planned. Those trained to deliver KUF 3-Day training prior to March 2024 are able to continue to do so, providing the training is delivered in line with the KUF principles. MH Trusts can continue to fund existing KUF trainers, including lived experience roles, as required, to support KUF training delivery. If KUF 3-day materials are used to support any other training, they should not be advertised using the KUF brand.
